Q: Do I need to know HTML to put my kennel on the web?
A: No, The developers at NetKennel.com have already done all the work for you. All you need to know is how to use a keyboard, and mouse. NetKennel.com handles the rest.
Q: I heard that you need to save images differently for the web. Do I need any special image software to format my pictures for the web?
A: No, NetKennel.com knows how to format most of the popular digital camera, and scanner image formats, such as JPG, GIF, PNC, BMP, etc.. and converts them into the best possible size and format for web viewing. Most modern camera and cell phones take very large photos not meant for the web, so there maybe instances where you need to reduce the file size.
Q: How do I send you my photos to put on the site?
A: In the admin section of your site, you simply click on a button, find the picture on your computer, or digital camera, click update; and the picture is instantly uploaded, and (if necessary) a thumbnail is created automatically for easy viewing.
Q: How many dogs can I put on my site?
A: As many as you like.
Q: How long does it take to get my site up?
A: The website can be up within few minutes, however it may take a few days to develop your custom theme. After which you can then start uploading your pictures, and information.
Q: Can I add my own Custom HTML Pages?
A: Yes. Most kennels will be able to do everything they need directly from the intuitive web-based Administrative interface, however; there may be occasion where you would like to create custom content. You can create a page in a HTML editor and paste the content into your NetKennel page.
Q: Can I change the way my pages look, or do they need to look like NetKennel?
A: There are a couple of ways to change the look and feel of your site. First, of course you can upload unique pictures of your Dogs, and add information and events specific to your site. Also, you can change the color schemes, backgrounds, and layout through the use of Themes. We currently have a number of Themes to choose from, and we add more almost daily.
Q: When I pick a theme, do I have to stay with it, or can I change it?
A: There are different themes available. We will generally setup a new theme for you website which you can tweak.
Q: I don't have access to a digital camera, or a scanner. How can I get my pictures on the web?
A: Most photo development shops allow you to develop your film onto a CD for very little cost, or even free. Also you can take your photos to a copy center where they can usually scan them for under a dollar a picture, and put them on disk. If you would like to send them to us please click on the contact us page, we will tell you how to send them to us.
Q: How do I get my site listed on search engines?
A: NetKennel submits your site to the major search engines for free (AOL, MSN, Yahoo, Google, etc..) on a 72 hour cycle. Most sites are fully indexed, and on all the search engines within a few days, or weeks depending on the search engine!
Q: What if I have problems setting up my site?
A: We can be reached by email at gundogcentral@gmail.com and we try to respond to all inquiries as soon as possible. We will help you every step of the way! Typically however, once you get the hang of it, you don't really need our help and you can do most tasks quickly, and easily!
Q: Can I get an Email Address for my kennel
A: Yes, we do provide email service to our paying customers. You can receive up to 5 email addresses, and 2GB of storage space. Email accounts are $10 each. You can view your email via webmail access.
